Webinar: Big Tex Farms Tour & Horticultural Lighting

You are invited to learn how horticultural lighting and hydroponic systems enhance the growth of leafy greens and vegetables at Fair Park. Throughout the growing season, all produce is donated to Fair Park-area charitable organizations including the Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Institute, area churches and the Austin Street Shelter.


Drew Demler is the Greenhouse Manager at the State Fair of Texas, where he leads a year-round team to grow and maintain plants for the Fair and Fair Park events. He is frequently a guest speaker on behalf of the State Fair, has been a guest on several gardening programs, including “Central Texas Gardener” on PBS, and hosted his own “Blue Collar Gardeners” podcast. Drew was previously the Horticultural Supervisor for the Dallas Arboretum. He received his education from Louisiana State University.

Jerry Cassel is a multi-disciplined Sales and Marketing Professional creating demand and driving sales of Customer Focused Lighting Specifications, Energy Saving Applications and Eco-Conscious LED Solutions. Jerry joined FX Lighting in 2020 as the Regional Business Development Manager for the South Central and Rocky Mountain Regions. Jerry brings an extensive background in Commercial and Industrial Lighting. Jerry attained LC (Lighting Certified) designation in 2005 and is an accredited Six Sigma Quality Black Belt. Jerry earned a BS degree from Letourneau University in Longview, Texas. Jerry is a singer/drummer/musician, golfer, husband and father of 3 adult sons.
