Join us for lunch as we review the latest updates to lighting energy codes with Greg Brock. Many of the cities in Texas have adopted the 2018 International Building Codes, including the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Greg will present the latest changes to the 2018 IECC code and ASHRAE / IES Standard 90.1 – 2016, which impact lighting design decisions in today’s new construction and renovation projects. He will also inform the attendees as to the high level changes coming in the newer versions of the IECC and Standard 90.1.
Greg Brock is the Director of MEP Services for The Beck Group. Beck is a 110 year old, family owned, design, construction, and technology firm headquartered in Dallas. Greg is an Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, and a LEED Accredited Professional. Greg joined Beck 25 years ago from a local MEP Consulting Firm where he was the Director of Electrical Engineering for the firm. He started his career out of college working in Project Management for major Electrical Subcontracting firms based in Texas. Greg is privileged to lead a team of talented Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Estimators, Project Managers, and Superintendents at Beck. He spends his time focused on teaching industry related classes, on finding and hiring new MEP personnel, and on developing these persons to be the future leaders at Beck. Greg and his wife, Kathy, live in Dallas, have been married 42 years, are the parents of 2 grown daughters and a son, and the proud grandparents of 4 grandchildren.
